MINUTES OF THE WIMB MEETING 

ECEMBER 2009 

Eva Nascimento called meeting to order on December 10th at 7:45pm. She began by thanking everyone for a great fruit sale year with profits totaling just over $19,000. 

November MinutesNancy Andrews motioned to accept the November minutes. Katie Sullivan seconded. November minutes were accepted. 

Treasurer’s Report

Mario Ciampi gave the treasurer’s report for the month of November.  

 UniformsDonna Pallone stated all but 3 uniforms have been collected. 

Fundraising

Ø      Fruit Sale – Eva reported that this was an exceptional fruit sale year.  Still we would like to get more band and orchestra students to participate. A proposal was made to change the student incentive for next year from 80% of profits from their sales to 70% with the opportunity to earn additional 5% -10% for volunteering during fruit order pick up.  Nancy motions to accept proposal.  Katie Sullivan seconds it.  It is voted on unanimously. Jane McFarlane thanks everyone that volunteered during the basket making and order pickup days.  Also, discusses some of the changes we will implement for next year, such as one long shift for Friday night, limit community service students, and increase participation of band students.

Ø      Christmas Tree pickup –Jerome Sauer out. Flyers were passed out at fruit sale pick up. It will also be put up on website, and Yolanda will put ad in The Post. John MacFarlane, Rocco Catricala, and Mark Kelly volunteered trucks to be used for pick up.

  •       Magnets- Stacey Veley reports $475 in sales, $300 during fruit sale. 

Dave Dion’s Update

Ø      5 band students and 7 choral students made Northern Regionals.

Ø      Choral Concert on Monday, December 14th.  Dress Rehearsal for Musical Concert will be 2:15-3:30 on Tuesday, and Concert will be on Wednesday, December 16th.  Students must be there by 6:30 for group pictures.

Ø      Trip –First deposits have been made.  Final payment due Jan. 11th.

Ø      Other- Nancy discusses changing spring/summer uniforms to navy polo, khaki slacks, and black shoes.  Filomena has 3 polo samples in different price ranges. There is some concern about public opinion for Memorial Day Parade. 

Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm.  Next Meeting is January 14, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the WHS Chorus Room.
