Dave Dion’s Update Virginia/DC Trip – He was tremendously impressed with students' maturity, responsibility, and performance level and chaperones were supportive and positive – a huge thank you to all involved! The biggest negative he noticed was that the trip was too long. Students were tired and had lost interest by Sunday. He will take this into consideration for future trips.
March Concert- He was pleased: overall execution was not bad, but none of the groups played quite to their potential. Monday performances are usually more challenging. Each group performed a bit better in Virginia.
Spring Concert- June 9th . Two new pieces will be premiered, one by a Ryan G and one by a graduate, Mike Emiliani. The 8th grade band and orchestra will be performing with the high school groups.
Graduation- So far, it is June 22nd at 5PM.

He has interviewed a few candidates and his first choice is an instructor from the Hartford Stage Company. He has a great deal of competitive experience with the color guard and dance. He is a positive and patient teacher by all accounts. His colleagues and competitors have nothing but high praise for him and our schedule works well with his. He will do a rehearsal with the girls for the Memorial Day Parade to see how the dynamics will pan out.Meeting adjourned at 8:45pm. Next meeting is May 13, 2010 at 7:00pm in the WHS Chorus Room.
