Treasurer’s Report

Mario Ciampi- November’s Income was $27,919 from Fruit sale; expenses totaling $13,657 consisted primarily of the cost of fruit sale and marching season staff stipend.  Ending balance in boosters account $38,193.52.  Approximately, another $3500 is still due from fruit sale.  Student funds have not yet been allocated.  Also, Nella will get Mario the $250 check from the fundraising event at Narcissus’ Café.

 Uniform Updates

Donna Pallone- all but 10 uniforms returned and sent to cleaners; they will be back in time for St Patrick’s Day Parade.

Fundraising

Ø      Fruit Sale- Eva Nasciamento and Jeanne Ruffy thanked everyone for being such troopers, especially during fruit pick-up weekend.  We went through $60 worth of hand warmers.  Total sales were $34,587 with a profit of $17,858.  Students earned $12,952 towards their accounts.  Highest earners were:  Gina Salvatore, Jackie DeBarge and Lourdes Cruz.

We still need someone to take on Eva’s and Joe’s role next year.  Also, next year students who did not sell will not get a customer list.

Ø      Bottle Drive- Charlie’s concerned that middle school bottle drive will cut into our fundraiser.  Judy Ndzieleski will be speaking with Mrs. Spotts to see how this can be worked out so that we can achieve Charlie’s goal of 500,000,000 nickels. The date for our drive will be April 25th, the last Saturday in April.

Ø      Rockcats- Insurance will be $416.  Vote overwhelmingly approved.  Also discussed that more volunteers need to be solicited during Band Banquet and dates should be made available.

Ø      Rentschler Field- will not continue to cover these events.  David, Rodrigo’s das asked about considering a booth; organization that runs booth gets 10% of sales.

Ø      United Way- Check was cut this Wednesday for 2007.  It should be for $1,400.  It was suggested that boosters send an email blast in August (prior to the next United Way campaign) reminding members that they can select WHS Band to receive their United Way pledges.

Dave Dion’s Update

Dave had another event, but gave Nancy notes to share.

Ø      Concert- sheets have been sent home; also wants to forewarn us that auditorium maybe musty as the stage area was flooded.

Ø      NYC Trip- 7 extra chaperone tickets are available for the April 22nd trip.

Ø      Other- Dave would like 2-3 computers for the band room so that students to work on their music compositions—donated would be fine.

Publicity

Yolanda Preysner- as of Jan 12th Post will be out of business.  She has also been acting as liaison   to Kohlhagen who then shares band info with school board.  In addition, Yolanda has arranged for Art Rich to come to the holiday concert.

Other Business

Ø      Safe Grad- has requested a donation; Jeanne Ruffy motions fro $10 per senior ($250 for this year??) and to continue this donation annually so long as budget allows.  Charlie seconds.
